A Special Mothers Quilt

This quilt was created from some of my mothers favorite clothing after she passed away.

I made a quilt for each of my siblings. Quilts can be made for any number of reasons and this type of quilt can be real comfort for family members after a loved passes.

I wrote a special poem about my mother Mary Louise who was known as ML. My father called her ML for (MY Love) So I often called her that.

The poem was a fun touch. I've included the poem before. I was thrilled and excited with the response of each of my siblings.

Wrap Yourself in My Love

By Joanne Bingham

Let me introduce myself, I’m your new M. L. quilt.

My name has come from your mother, as you can tell.

I’m made from your mother’s blouses, pants, skirts, and dresses.

And other fabrics that she had chosen to create to bless us.

I’m here to wrap around you on the days that are cold and gray

So My Love for you can warm you throughout the day

I hope you can feel me near as I whisper in your ear

All My Love is yours to stay, listen and you will hear.

So use me if you’re home alone, some cold and dreary night,

I’ll be your close companion as we snuggle up so tight.

I send all My Love to watch over you and those I love so dear, Keep me close as you remember me, because I am so near.
